Chablis 1er Cru Côtes de Léchet Cuvée Jean-Marc Brocard

Domaine des Hospices de Beaune

Albert Bichot’s view

Brilliant yellow color with green highlights. Very fresh citrus nose. Tension and minerality are the hallmarks of a refined palate.

Food pairings

On its own as an aperitif, shellfish and seafood, trout en papillote.

The parcel is located on the left bank of the Serein (the river running through Chablis), on the top of the hillside with a steep slope. South-east-facing, the soil is a blend of clay and sandy limestone. The result is an expressive, very fruity wine with an assertive minerality.

Vinification and aging

This Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Léchet Cuvée J.M. Brocard has been skilfully vinified by the Domaine des Hospices de Beaune. Sold every year at the Hospices auction on the 3rd Sunday in November, Albert Bichot regularly buys this great wine on behalf of clients who then entrust us with its ageing in our cellars. During this important period, thanks to meticulous work and the blending of a variety of barrels, we further develop its complexity and potential.

Le Domaine des Hospices de Beaune est certifié bio depuis la récolte 2024 et bien entendu nous élevons dans nos caves Albert Bichot ce vin en respectant cette philosophie respectueuse de l’environnement.

History of the cuvée

This parcel was donated in 2015 by Monsieur Jean-Marc Brocard, born in Chaudenay-le-Château, 30 kilometers from Beaune. Members of the family stayed at the Beaune hospital when they were affected by the disease. After marrying, Monsieur Brocard moved on, but remained in the region, founding an estate in Chablis in 1975. The Premier Cru Côte de Léchet is one of the most renowned on the left bank of the Serein, which runs through Chablis. The vines in this parcel are around 30 years old, and are located in the heart of this south-east-facing, clay- and limestone-rich, well-sloped hillside.
