A major buyer at Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges for decades (and very frequently buyer number 1), Albert Bichot offers winelovers two options for bidding and buying those outstanding wines:
1. Buy online from just one bottle a Nuits-Saint-Georges village or premier cru cuvée, from our own Albert Bichot selection. This works on the same collective purchasing principle that we offer since 2009 for the Hospices de Beaune auction.
2. Buy a full barrel (288 bottles) or a portion of a barrel, from among the 19 wines on sale. A 100% bespoke project.

Wines are available for pruchase on our online store a few weeks before the auction.
After several tastings prior to the auction, we will select a cuvée of Nuits-Saint-Georges village and a cuvée of Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru. We define a maximum hammer price for these two wines and therefore a maximum price per bottle before the auction, shown on our online store. Ordering online is easy and works in the same way as for the Hospices de Beaune auction, detailed on this page.
Wines are shipped 2 years after harvest (autumn Y+2 following harvest), after their careful aging in our cellar. As an option (for a fee), you can personalize the Hospices de Nuits label with your buyer's name. Also as an option, you can convert all or part of your purchase into magnums and jeroboams.

To buy a whole barrel (288 bottles) or a portion of a barrel at the Hospices de Nuits auction, simply register and Jean-David Camus will be in touch with you very quickly. Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges auction key principles
Every 2nd Sunday in March, the Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges auction is a not-to-be-missed event for all lovers of fine Burgundy wines. It takes place in the cellars of Chateau du Clos de Vougeot. Each lot sold at auction corresponds to a certain number of 228-liter barrels, known as pièces. One barrel corresponds to 288 bottles after ageing. Money raised during the auction (over 2 million Euros) allows the institution to take good care of its patients in its Hôpital Saint-Laurent and carry on its winegrowing heritage spanning over centuries.
Hospices de Nuits wines are sold as cuvées, which can be a blend of several plots or hailing from one single plot. Albert Bichot's mission is to help you understand and choose the wine that's right for you, in terms of style, taste and price. As with the Hospices de Beaune sale, wines are sold en primeur, 6 months after harvest and are therefore not ready at the time of the bid. After the auction, we will bring the barrels we bought into our Albert Bichot cellars and age each barrel with extreme care, for around 12 to 18 months. This is the time we need to bring them to their peak, before bottling them and shipping them to our customers, professionals and connoisseurs around the world.
