Presidential charity barrel: history of results, sponsors and associations supported at the Hospices de Beaune auction
The Hospices de Beaune charity barrel sale, also known as the Pièce des Présidents (presidential barrel), is an emblematic event of the famous wine sale, where influential personalities bring their fame to support one or two charities.
Each year, figures from the worlds of the arts, sport and politics preside over the sale in aid of social and medical charities. The principle is simple: the funds raised are donated to those charities, which share the proceeds, affirming the humanitarian and supportive vocation of this Burgundian tradition that is the Hospices de Beaune wine auction.
Our house Albert Bichot is a regular supporter of this highlight of the wine auction, and several of our customers have purchased this special barrel in recent history.
