This cuvée is 100% made from a magnificent parcel of Grèves, on a steep hillside. The soil is stony and the marl has a sandy grading. Well-drained on its friable rock, the soil lends the wine its unmistakably elegant, mineral style. Refined yet powerful, this climate is certainly the most balanced of the 42 in the Beaune appellation. Longevity is always very high.

Vinification and aging
This Beaune Grèves 1er Cru Cuvée Pierre Floquet has been skilfully vinified by the Domaine des Hospices de Beaune. Sold every year at the Hospices auction on the 3rd Sunday in November, Albert Bichot regularly buys this great wine on behalf of clients who then entrust us with its ageing in our cellars. During this important period, thanks to meticulous work and the blending of a variety of barrels, we further develop its complexity and potential.
The Domaine des Hospices de Beaune has been certified organic since the 2024 harvest, and we naturally age your wine in our Albert Bichot cellars in line with this environmentally-friendly philosophy.
History of the cuvée
This Cuvée is the result of Pierre Floquet's bequest of Premier Cru Beaune-Grèves in 1997. The Hospices have been cultivating 0.75 hectares in two parcels since 2004, when the Cuvée was created. The vines are an estimated 35 years old. They are partly side-by-side, and partly just above the very heart of the vines of the famous Premier Cru Les Grèves.
