Albert Bichot created this website www.hospices-beaune.com in 2009 to enable amateurs and professionals alike to buy at the legendary Hospices de Beaune or Nuits-Saint-Georges auctions easily, without having to buy a full 228-liter barrel, thanks to collective online purchase.

So the 2 red wines and 3 white wines from Hospices de Beaune that we propose to buy en primeur "as futures" at the auction can be purchased in multiples of 1, 3 or 6 bottles.

Of course, you can mix and match your order and buy 1 bottle of a first white wine, 3 bottles of a first red wine and, for example, 6 bottles of another Hospices red wine. It's up to you to decide according to your desires and your budget.

Answer: 5 wines for Hospices de Beaune, 2 for Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges

For the Hospices de Beaune, we offer a selection of 3 red wines and 2 white wines, presented a few weeks before the sale and chosen on criteria of terroir diversity, quality and price.

For the Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges, we offer 2 wines (1 village and 1 premier cru).

They will be displayed on our online boutique approximately 4 weeks before the auction.

Answer: our final price includes everything except shipping

Our final price includes : hammer price at the auction + auctioneer's fees + barrel + aging of the wines in our cellars for 10 to 18 months + 75 cl bottle(s) with its official Hospices label.

Only shipping costs are NOT included and calculated based on shipping destination. Or you can collect your wines in Beaune from Albert Bichot to save them. Read more about shipping options

Wines sold individually are delivered in polystyrene cases. Wines sold by 3 or 6 bottles are delivered in a superb wooden case.

As an optional extra, you can even personalize the Hospices label with your purchaser's name (strictly for 6 or more bottles of the same wine).

Answer: Yes: deposit of 80% of the total price, i.e. the amount before tax.

We ask you before the auction to pay the amount before tax corresponding to the maximum ceiling price set for each wine to confirm your registration and thus give Albert Bichot the power to bid and buy on your behalf. We will not take your order into account if we have not received this deposit before the auction.

The balance (adjusted according to the real hammer price - known after the auction - is to be paid in January N+2, i.e. two years after the sale (January 2026 for Hospices wines of the 2024 vintage, for example), together with shipping costs and extra options (custom labels, larger bottles)

Answer: Albert Bichot refunds your full deposit

A couple of days after the auction, we inform you of the auction final results for each wine. If the bidding has exceeded the ceiling set by Albert Bichot, your order will be cancelled and your deposit refunded within a few days.

We may offer you the possibility of converting the deposit corresponding to the wine not purchased into another available wine, depending on availability and your wishes.

Anwser: we pass on the lower price.

Before the Hospices auction, we set a maximum hammer price for each wine offered. If this price drops, we also pass on the final price downwards according to our price list. In other words, you know the maximum price in advance, but that price can go down!

Answer: Yes with minimum quantities

You can convert each Hospices wine ordered into larger formats (1,5 litres magnums or 3 litres jeroboams).

The minimum is 48 bottles of 75 cl to become 24 magnums or 12 jeroboams. Contact us for associated costs as they vary each year.

Hospices magnum wines are delivered in 3-bottle wooden cases. Hospices jeroboam wines are delivered in individual wooden cases.

Answer: Yes we can !

Shipping to the USA is possible and easy for most states. We're used to work with a dedicated shipping partner. You'll pay the freight costs to them directly and the wines costs to us. They look after everything and collect the wines from our cellars to deliver it to your door.

Answer: in autumn 2 years after the auction vintage

Hospices de Beaune wines are sold en primeur (as futures) and are delivered around 24 months after the auction, in autumn Y+2 in relation to the vintage.

For example, wines from the Hospices de Beaune or Nuits-Saint-Georges 2024 vintage will be readu for shipping in autumn 2026.

On our online store, prices are indicated WITHOUT shipping costs, as they vary according to the quantity and county of destination.

We can ship your Hospices wines to most countries in the world. There are a few exceptions like Canada where it is not possible.
