Beaune 1er Cru Cuvée Brunet

Domaine des Hospices de Beaune

Albert Bichot’s view

Beautiful, intense red. Elegant bouquet followed by ripe fruit (raspberry) that infuses the whole mouth.

Food pairings

Mixed salads, brioche sausage, duck breast.

This cuvée is made up of Climats Bressandes, Teurons and Cent Vignes. Each terroir brings a strong identity: Cent Vignes, with its deep clays, stands for structure, Bressandes for balance and finesse (lighter, more calcareous clays) and Teurons for salinity (rocky marls fairly close to the surface). The wine is often full-bodied on the attack, but evolves towards finesse on the mid-palate and finish.

Vinification and aging

This Beaune 1er Cru Cuvée Brunet has been skilfully vinified by the Domaine des Hospices de Beaune. Sold every year at the Hospices auction on the 3rd Sunday in November, Albert Bichot regularly buys this great wine on behalf of clients who then entrust us with its ageing in our cellars. During this important period, thanks to meticulous work and the blending of a variety of barrels, we further develop its complexity and potential.

Le Domaine des Hospices de Beaune est certifié bio depuis la récolte 2024 et bien entendu nous élevons dans nos caves Albert Bichot ce vin en respectant cette philosophie respectueuse de l’environnement.

History of the cuvée

The Brunet family traces its origins back to the early 17th century. Five of its members were mayors of Beaune, and several of them are on the town's roll of honor. The Cuvée is made up entirely of Premiers Crus, all superbly situated: Bressandes, Bas des Teurons and Les Cent- Vignes. All the vines were planted between 1954 and 1976, with the exception of 15% dating from 1999.
