Light yellow color with green highlights. Precise citrus nose (lime, hint of grapefruit), followed by a palate combining finesse and intensity. The altitude of the terroir retains a welcome freshness and minerality to this lovely Burgundy wine.

Oysters and seafood, octopus salad with coriander, grilled fish a la plancha, Thai spice soup.
This cuvée is made up of two parcels: Le Village Haut on the top of the hillside, facing south with a steep slope and shallow, predominantly limestone soil. A little lower down, the second parcel, Sous La Velle, has a less steep slope and offers deeper soil with calcareous marl. The wine therefore has a proven minerality and racy character.

Vinification and aging
This Saint-Romain Cuvée Joseph Menault has been skilfully vinified by the Domaine des Hospices de Beaune. Sold every year at the Hospices auction on the 3rd Sunday in November, Albert Bichot regularly buys this great wine on behalf of clients who then entrust us with its ageing in our cellars. History of the cuvée
This wine is named after its generous donor, Joseph Menault, who donated his vines to the Hôtel-Dieu in 1992. The entire vineyard in need of replanting dates back to 1994 (the upper village) and 1998 (Sous la Velle). The village of Saint-Romain lies below the rocky cliffs to the west of Meursault.
The Cuvée comes from two parcels: the extremely steep "Village Haut", situated at an altitude of over 400 meters, near the highest point of Saint-Romain, and the "Sous la Velle", situated 50 meters below. Earlier vintages are endowed with intense perfume, fine minerality and racy character.
