2026 Collector Edition: Beaune 1er Cru Dames Hospitalières wine in magnum and jeroboam bottles
This year, Albert Bichot is offering a limited edition of the Hospices de Beaune’s most iconic wine. It comes in magnum or jeroboam size, presented in a wooden case, personnallys signed by Ludivine Griveau and Albéric Bichot.
Beaune 1er Cru Dames Hospitalières: the historic cuvée that kicks off the Hospices de Beaune wine auction each year
Every year, the Hospices de Beaune auction begins with the “Dames Hospitalières” cuvée. It is named after the nuns who cared for the sick at the Hôtel-Dieu for more than five centuries, beginning with its founding in 1443. It is a symbol of the world’s most famous charity auction, the proceeds of which continue to support the Beaune hospital to this day.
A blend of the Bressandes, Teurons, and La Mignotte premier crus, this wine combines aromatic intensity, fullness, and structure. Purple in color, with a nose of stone fruits, raspberries, and black berries; generous on the palate with an elegant finish: a wine that will need a little time to fully reveal itself.
Magnum and jeroboam, in a collector’s wooden case
The magnum (150 cl) and jeroboam (300 cl) extend the wine’s aging potential. Each bottle is delivered in an individual wooden case, engraved with the coats of arms of the Hospices and Albert Bichot. It is hand-signed by Ludivine Griveau, estate manager of the Domaine des Hospices de Beaune, and by Albéric Bichot. This edition also marks the 150th anniversary of the house’s participation in the auction, dating back to 1876.
