Corton-Renardes cuvée Berthier-Sweeney : a new name for this grand cru cuvee

Hospices de Beaune Corton grand cru Les Renardes, a new cuvée name: Berthier-Sweeney

John-Thomas Sweeney, author of several reference works on the history of the Hospices de Beaune, signed a confidential donation to the hospital in January 2024. This generous gesture will see him, and his late wife Marie-Thérèse Berthier, have their names associated with a Corton grand cru cuvée from the Hospices wine estate.

From the 2024 vintage, the Domaine des Hospices de Beaune Corton grand cru Les Renardes cuvée will thus bear the names of this couple of historians: cuvée Berthier-Sweeney. This consecration echoes their major work, "Histoire des hospices de Beaune : vins, domaines et donateurs", published in 2012. They, in turn, become an integral part of this living tradition of generosity for the benefit of the Hospices, as has been the case for 5 centuries.
