Tasting of all the 2026 Hospices wines by Albert Bichot
A conversation between Albert Bichot and Ludivine Griveau
As they do every year, after the winemaking process is complete and the wines have just been barrel-aged, the Albert Bichot team of oenologists meets with Ludivine Griveau, the Hospices’ estate manager, to taste all of the Hospices de Beaune wines a few weeks before the auction.
This key encounter serves two purposes:
1. To provide recommendations to our future buyers by sharing with them all our tasting notes and a comprehensive report on the vintage.
2. To begin preparing now for the aging in our Albert Bichot cellars of the wines we will purchase. Wines are living entities; they evolve, and understanding their dynamics as early as possible is crucial for planning, in particular, which barrels will be used during the 12 to 18 months they will spend under our (immense) responsibility.
