Hospices de Beaune 2025 - all results for an exceptional auction. Albert Bichot #1 once again
Hospices de Beaune 2025: a committed edition with excellent results
The 165th Hospices de Beaune Wine Auction took place on Sunday November 16, 2025 under the hammer of Sotheby's in Bourgone wines' capital, Beaune. Once again this year, this emblematic event brought together buyers, collectors and wine lovers from all over the world to support the hospital institution and its wine estate.
Total bids amounted to €18.32 million, making this 165th Wine Sale the third-best sale in the institution's history.
Charity barrel, a unique Pommard Premier Cru "Les Rugiens", sold for €400,000.
In 2025, the charity play was sponsored by Alige Taglioni, Martin Solveig, Cédric Klapishe and Vincent Lacoste, supporting 2 charities: the EHCO association and the Institut Robert-Debré du Cerveau de l'Enfant. This year's cause was disability to the service of technological innovation. After a fierce battle between the room and telephone bidders, this unseen, off-catalogue wine was sold for 400,000 Euros, which will be entirely sahred between the 2 associations. This was the first time that the wine chosen for the charity event was a sublime Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens.
In 2025, Albert Bichot is once again the #1 buyer at Hospices de Beaune wine auction.
Present at the auction since 1876, we have maintained an unshakeable link with the Hospices de Beaune, based on transmission and respect for the terroir. Once again this year, Albert Bichot stood out as the sale's leading buyer, with 85.5 barrels acquired for a total of €4.52 million, including 22 Grand Cru barrels. Our bids accounted for 25% of the total sale amount and 16% of the total volume.
In the words of Albéric Bichot: "We are proud to perpetuate this tradition and to contribute, through our purchases, to the preservation of a winegrowing and hospitality heritage that is unique in the world. We were fortunate to acquire several emblematic pieces - notably a Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru "Cuvée des Dames de Flandres" with an all-time purchase record of €400,000. The wines from the sale will join our cellars, where they will be aged with the utmost care."
