Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges vintage 2025 auction a great success

The sale, hosted by Idealwine for the 2nd year, kept all the buyers in the Château du Clos de Vougeot's large cellar on Sunday March 8. This splendid 2025 vintage was the last to be sold by Jean-Marc Moron, who is retiring after 35 years at the service of these great Côte de Nuit wines, leaving his place to Laurence Danel, the estate's new winemaker.

80.5 barrels sold €1.526 million

After a 2024 vintage with historically low volumes, the 2025 vintage was more generous, but without reaching the full potential of the Domaine des Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges, which with its size of 12.4 ha can, in good years, put 140 to 150 barrels up for sale.

Total bids amounted to €1.526 million, with an average price per barrel of €18,600 for red wines. The most expensive item was - logically - a Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru "Les Saint-Georges" cuvée Georges Faiveley, which sold for €47,000.
