Meursault Cuvée Goureau

Domaine des Hospices de Beaune

Albert Bichot’s view

Attractive light yellow color. Fresh, lively nose typical of the area, with citrus and quince notes. Lovely complexity and opulence on the palate. A charming wine.

Food pairings

A perfect aperitif companion, it will add charm to a fine smoked salmon, fish soup or poultry with cream sauce.

The majority of the cuvée is made from the "Les Peutes Vignes" climat, backed by the 1ers crus Santenots du milieu and Criots (cuvée Loppin). A few rows of Grands Charrons (too few to make a dedicated cuvée) complete the blend. The soil is stony, gently sloping and fairly rich in clay. The wines draw strength from it, and are generally concentrated and harmonious.

Vinification and aging

This Meursault Cuvée Goureau has been skilfully vinified by the Domaine des Hospices de Beaune. Sold every year at the Hospices auction on the 3rd Sunday in November, Albert Bichot regularly buys this great wine on behalf of clients who then entrust us with its ageing in our cellars. During this important period, thanks to meticulous work and the blending of a variety of barrels, we further develop its complexity and potential.

Le Domaine des Hospices de Beaune est certifié bio depuis la récolte 2024 et bien entendu nous élevons dans nos caves Albert Bichot ce vin en respectant cette philosophie respectueuse de l’environnement.

History of the cuvée

The Cuvée pays tribute to Mademoiselle Goureau, who made a substantial donation of several estates in the villages of Masse, Corcelle, Mimande, Chaudenay, Ebaty and Demigny to the Hospice de la Charité.
