Beaune 1er Cru Les Montrevenots Cuvée Cyrot Chaudron

Domaine des Hospices de Beaune

Albert Bichot’s view

A fresh, well-structured wine with a granular, tannic underside and an attractive base offering good ageing potential.

Food pairings

Winter soup with wild mushrooms. Grilled butcher's cut.

Les Montrevenots are located on the border with Pommard, the last valley south of the Beaune appellation. This terroir overlooks Clos des Mouches, resulting in a blend of complexity, subtlety and finesse. Dominantly white earth. Saline notes are often found in the wines, with a moderate tannic expression but a very greedy crispness. This cuvée is generally the most ready-to-drink of the 10 cuvées of Beaune 1er cru rouge.

  • Region: Côte de Beaune
  • Village: Beaune
  • Level: Premier Cru
  • Appellation: Beaune 1er Cru

Vinification and aging

This Beaune 1er Cru Les Montrevenots Cuvée Cyrot Chaudron has been skilfully vinified by the Domaine des Hospices de Beaune. Sold every year at the Hospices auction on the 3rd Sunday in November, Albert Bichot regularly buys this great wine on behalf of clients who then entrust us with its ageing in our cellars. During this important period, thanks to meticulous work and the blending of a variety of barrels, we further develop its complexity and potential.

The Domaine des Hospices de Beaune has been certified organic since the 2024 harvest, and we naturally age your wine in our Albert Bichot cellars in line with this environmentally-friendly philosophy.

History of the cuvée

This vineyard was donated by the Cyrot-Chaudron couple in 1979.
