From the very first nose, the Grand Cru intensity is present, with an impressive presence of fruit and flowers. Same intensity on the palate, with an acidity that preserves the balance at the end. A very long finish signs a wonderful bottle.

Vinification and aging
This Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru Cuvée Roi Soleil has been skilfully vinified by the Domaine des Hospices de Beaune. Sold every year at the Hospices auction on the 3rd Sunday in November, Albert Bichot regularly buys this great wine on behalf of clients who then entrust us with its ageing in our cellars. During this important period, thanks to meticulous work and the blending of a variety of barrels, we further develop its complexity and potential.
The Domaine des Hospices de Beaune has been certified organic since the 2024 harvest, and we naturally age your wine in our Albert Bichot cellars in line with this environmentally-friendly philosophy.
The Corton-Renardes vineyard was bequeathed to the Hospices by Charlotte Dumay in 1584. Cuvée du Roi Soleil pays tribute to Louis XIV. In 1658, the Sun King, accompanied by his court and mother, visited the Hôtel Dieu, granted a pension and signed the guest book. The old Pinot Noir vines were uprooted in 1997. The wine comes from a parcel replanted in 2001, facing east and situated at the top of the Corton hill, now perceived as being more suitable for Chardonnay than Pinot. The location of this steep vineyard, overlooking the plain, is magnificent. The wine is extremely racy, with superior ageing potential.
