Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru Cuvée Dames de Flandres

Domaine des Hospices de Beaune

Albert Bichot’s view

Intense, luminous yellow in color, this wine is of rare concentration and intensity, with a racy nose and palate of yellow fruit and flowers. Perfect expression of a magical terroir. Impressive ageing potential.

Food pairings

Enjoy it on its own, almost religiously, in all its splendor, or marry it with a refined cuisine that lets it shine.

The vines are planted in the commune of Chassagne-Montrachet. East-facing and gently sloping, the soil is brown, chalky, thick and clayey. The wine is structured, chiselled, concentrated, mineral, highly complex and always long-lasting. Very good ageing potential.

Vinification and aging

This Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru Cuvée Dames de Flandres has been skilfully vinified by the Domaine des Hospices de Beaune. Sold every year at the Hospices auction on the 3rd Sunday in November, Albert Bichot regularly buys this great wine on behalf of clients who then entrust us with its ageing in our cellars. During this important period, thanks to meticulous work and the blending of a variety of barrels, we further develop its complexity and potential.

Le Domaine des Hospices de Beaune est certifié bio depuis la récolte 2024 et bien entendu nous élevons dans nos caves Albert Bichot ce vin en respectant cette philosophie respectueuse de l’environnement.

History of the cuvée

The vineyard, planted in 1974, was acquired by the Hospices de Beaune in 1989. It was named Dames de Flandres in commemoration of the origins of the community of Sisters who cared for the patients of the Hôtel-Dieu over the centuries.
The vines are planted in the commune of Chassagne-Montrachet. They regularly produce a great white wine that captivates with its minerality, length on the palate, ageing potential and exceptional complexity.
