The parcel extends the slopes of the Corton hill between Aloxe-Corton and Savigny-les-Beaune. Les Vergelesses is one of the appellation's 6 Premier Cru Climats. The slope is gentle, and the soil very deep, with thick clay and a sprinkling of ferruginous pebbles. This undoubtedly explains why the Pinot Noir produced here is both structured and slightly mineral. Tannins are often "fresh", with a clean touch and a smooth finish. Generally appreciated in its youth, it can also be kept thanks to its freshness.

Vinification and aging
This Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Cuvée Rameau Lamarosse has been skilfully vinified by the Domaine des Hospices de Beaune. Sold every year at the Hospices auction on the 3rd Sunday in November, Albert Bichot regularly buys this great wine on behalf of clients who then entrust us with its ageing in our cellars. During this important period, thanks to meticulous work and the blending of a variety of barrels, we further develop its complexity and potential.
The Domaine des Hospices de Beaune has been certified organic since the 2024 harvest, and we naturally age your wine in our Albert Bichot cellars in line with this environmentally-friendly philosophy.
Since 1626, the Lamarosse family has linked its destiny to that of the town of Beaune: its first representative Antoine was a cooper, then numerous descendants exported Burgundy wines throughout the world until the 19th century. The last representative bequeathed her house and the majority of her vineyard to the Hospices de Beaune and her home village of Pernand. Benefiting from perfect exposure, the vines, 30 years old on average, are exposed to the rays of the rising sun and begin the ripening process in the morning.
