Meursault Porusots 1er Cru Cuvée Jéhan Humblot

Domaine des Hospices de Beaune

Albert Bichot’s view

Superb, brilliant, intense yellow color. Very fresh nose of almond, quince and sunny citrus fruit. Dense on the palate, yet retaining the minerality and fullness of this great terroir.

Food pairings

The generosity and intensity of this wine make it a perfect match for seafood à la plancha, mushroom velouté and truffled poultry.

The parcel making up this cuvée is located mid-slope and faces east. The soil is rich in calcareous marl with fine-grained pebbles. The cuvée is often elegant and delicate, but not without longevity.

Vinification and aging

This Meursault Porusots 1er Cru Cuvée Jéhan Humblot has been skilfully vinified by the Domaine des Hospices de Beaune. Sold every year at the Hospices auction on the 3rd Sunday in November, Albert Bichot regularly buys this great wine on behalf of clients who then entrust us with its ageing in our cellars. During this important period, thanks to meticulous work and the blending of a variety of barrels, we further develop its complexity and potential.

Le Domaine des Hospices de Beaune est certifié bio depuis la récolte 2024 et bien entendu nous élevons dans nos caves Albert Bichot ce vin en respectant cette philosophie respectueuse de l’environnement.

History of the cuvée

In 1600, Jéhan Humblot donated a vast property near Montagny to the Hospices de Beaune. In 2005, the Cuvée was for the first time made up of 100% Premier Cru Les Porusots. All vines predate 1975, with some dating back to 1936 and 1953.
