On the 3rd Sunday in November, the world of wine meets up in Beaune for the Hospices de Beaune auctions!
Since 1859 and the start of the Hospices de Beaune auctions, the 3rd Sunday in November is when it all happens! Beaune becomes the wine capital of the world. We invite buyers of a barrel (or a fraction) to join us for this exceptional weekend.
Tens of thousands of wine connoisseurs and professionals gather in our town to share in the joyous atmosphere. Beaune is transformed and vibrates to the rhythm of parades, tastings and auctions! It’s also a time of celebration at Albert Bichot: we welcome over 200 customers and friends from all over the world for the occasion.
Friday, Saturday, Sunday…3 unforgettable days
It all starts with a tasting at the Hospices de Beaune cuverie of all the cuvées to be auctioned. You’ll be accompanied by Jean-David Camus and Albert Bichot oenologists, on hand to answer all your technical questions. An incredible experience, at the heart of the Domaine.
We also organize a private tasting on Saturday afternoon at our prestigious Domaine du Clos Frantin in Nuits-Saint-Georges. In century-old cellars, it’s an opportunity to taste the geographical and sensory diversity of our wines. The tour ends with a tasting of several Hospices de Beaune vintages, including rare old vintages.
Finally, on Sunday afternoons, we take it in turns to allow a few privileged buyers of full barrels to join us in the auction room. To be there with us when the auctioneer’s hammer comes down on a barrel is one of the memories of a lifetime. Simply unforgettable.
