The official poster for Hospices auction 2025 by artist Mode 2 revealed
The principle: a new poster each year to illustrate the Hospices de Beaune auction.
Since its creation in 1859, the Vente des Vins des Hospices de Beaune has established itself as one of the world's most emblematic charity and wine events. Every year, on the third Sunday in November, wine lovers, collectors, patrons and wine industry professionals gather in Beaune, in the heart of Burgundy, to take part in a unique auction, organized today by Sotheby's.
In order to mark each edition with a distinctive sign, the Hospices Civils de Beaune systematically unveil an official poster. This artistic tradition accompanies the event's communications and reflects its dual heritage: a hospital mission focused on care and solidarity, and a prestigious winegrowing estate, boasting more than 60 hectares classified in Burgundy's finest climats.
The poster is not just a communications medium. It is also a symbolic work that embodies the spirit of the sale, its convivial, hospitable and heritage character. It allows us to associate an artist with the Hospices tradition and to inscribe each vintage in a strong cultural dimension.
The 2025 Hospices poster: a banquet scene at Beaune's Hôtel-Dieu

For the 165ᵉ Vente des Vins des Hospices de Beaune, to be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at 2:30 pm under the Halle de Beaune, the poster unveiled in July 2025 stands out for its visual strength and universal message.
The chosen artist, Mode 2, has imagined a banquet table set up at nightfall, in the courtyard of honor of Beaune's Hôtel-Dieu. The setting is not insignificant: this is the historic site where the Vente des Vins was held until 1924, before it was transferred to the old cuverie and then, from 1959, to the Halle de Beaune.
The scene depicts guests gathered around a meal, in a warm, festive atmosphere. This iconographic choice evokes both the conviviality of sharing wine, the solidarity that unites participants around a hospitable cause, and the heritage dimension of a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Climats de Bourgogne.
The 2025 poster thus bridges the gap between tradition and modernity: it draws on the history of the Hospices while offering a contemporary, graphic interpretation of their mission. It embodies the very essence of the Sale: celebrating wine, supporting the hospital and bringing generations together through a festive moment of solidarity.
Discover Mode 2, the creator of the 2025 auction poster and its partnership with Hospices
The 2025 poster is signed by Mode 2, a graffiti artist of international stature, renowned for his figurative style blending realism and narrative power. Born in Mauritius and trained in Europe, Mode 2 has been a major figure in the street art and graffiti movement since the 1980s.
For the Hospices de Beaune, he has been chosen as Artistic Director of the "Imaginaires Kréatifs / Visions hospitalières - Visions minérales" project, a cultural program launched to mark the 10ᵉ anniversary of the Climats de Bourgogne being listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This project brings together several contemporary artists (including JACE, ERON and DELTA) around creations that highlight the Hôtel-Dieu and its vineyard estate through never-before-seen graphic interventions.
Mode 2's work for the 2025 poster is part of this approach: it conveys the hospitable spirit of the Wine Sale, evoking generosity and sharing, while recalling the wine-making activity for which the Hospices are renowned. His work also illustrates the organizers' desire to combine ancient heritage and contemporary creation, in a dynamic of cultural transmission and innovation.
This partnership testifies to the Hospices' openness to new forms of artistic expression and strengthens the international influence of the Sale, already known as the world's most famous charity wine auction.
