I am pleased to share with you the results of the 159th Hospices de Beaune auction that took place last Sunday.
The 589 barrels on auction reached a total sale of 12,27 M€. This corresponds to +21% vs last year (+24 for reds, +19 for whites). A rare and splendid vintage, a recognized winemaking savoir-faire from winemaker Ludivine Griveau and a strong attraction for fine Burgundy wines from all over the world are the key explanation factors.
Albert Bichot is proud to be once again the #1 buyer, with 122 barrels (82 red, 40 whites, 35 different cuvées) for a total of 2.8 M€, representing more than 20% of the auction in volume and value.
