STORY OF THE CUVÉE

This wine is named after a generous benefactor, Joseph Menault, who donated vineyards to the Hôtel-Dieu in 1992. All the vines needed replanting, and this took place in 1996 and 1997.

TERROIRS & DESCRIPTION

The village of Saint-Romain is situated in a precipitous cleft of hills, just west of Meursault. Over half of this Cuvée comes from a steeply-sloping vineyard, Le Village Haut, located above 400 metres, near the highest point of Saint- Romain. The balance comes from Sous la Velle, 50 metres lower down. Previous vintages tasted display intense perfume, raciness and minerality.
